Introduced for the 1953 model year, the Corvette stormed onto the sports car scene with great fanfare. With multiple revisions over the next nine years, the C1 Corvette was finally put out to pasture in 1962 anticipating the major redesign of the 1963 Stingray. GM had produced 14,931 units of the last C1, so in today’s collector market, many examples of 1962s are readily available. Enthusiasts today buy them for complete rotisserie restorations, light restomods, custom hot rods, and everywhere in between, so condition is important when sealing the deal for the right price.
