There have been significant milestones in the history of the automobile, but few are as important as the introduction of two American icons- the Ford Mustang and the Chevy Camaro. Johnny Lightning highlights the debut of these two pony cars that paved the way for generations of vehicles to come.
After several sneak peeks and teases from Ford of possible concepts, the 1964-1965 World’s Fair set the stage for the debut of the all-new Ford Mustang. History was made when over 22,000 were sold on the first day!
Chevrolet however, kept their pony car project a complete secret, even after the first pilot car had already rolled off the assembly line! Once the all-new Camaro was announced, it took the world by storm.
